Authenticate each request with your issued key using the documented header scheme. All traffic must use modern TLS without certificate pinning bypasses in production.

Restrict keys by environment and by calling service using separate credentials where possible.

Operational monitoring

Alert on elevated 401/403 rates—they often indicate misconfiguration or credential expiry rather than attacks.

Log correlation IDs, not raw PII, in application logs.
